As we welcome the month of May, we’re excited to share several meaningful milestones and moments of recognition across Aspen Valley Health.

This month marks an important step forward with the transition of Aspen Medical Care (AMC) to Aspen Valley Health (AVH) Primary Care. This change reflects our continued evolution and commitment to delivering more connected, comprehensive care for our community. As part of this transition, we are pleased to open our newly refurbished Primary Care clinic in downtown Aspen on Monday, May 18. This updated space has been thoughtfully designed to enhance both the patient experience and the work environment for our care teams.

We are also delighted to welcome three exceptional physicians to our Primary Care practice—Drs. Bryan Gieszl and Mary Harris previously with AMC, and Dr. Kelsea Loveless-Hoffman. Each brings valuable expertise and a shared dedication to high-quality, patient-centered care. We are grateful to have them join our growing team.

May is also a special time to celebrate National Nurses Week (May 6-12) and National Hospital Week (May 10-16). These weeks provide an opportunity to recognize the extraordinary individuals who make our mission possible every day. With Nurses Week, we celebrate our amazing team of nurse professionals who deliver exceptional care every day throughout our health system. And during Hospital Week, we proudly recognize our entire healthcare team—from physicians and nurses to our support staff and volunteers—for their compassion, professionalism and commitment that define Aspen Valley Health. We are deeply appreciative of all they do to care for our patients and support one another; the culture of excellence that is ubiquitous at AVH drives our truly outstanding care and patient experience as well as make AVH an incredible place to work and one of our community’s most valuable assets! Please join me in delivering a heartfelt “thank you” to our amazing team!

Finally, we are encouraged and excited with the recent approval of the Beaumont housing project, which represents a significant investment in the future of our workforce. We appreciate the City Council’s insightful review process and unanimous support for this project that will truly enhance the lives of our deeply dedicated healthcare team. By helping to improve housing and workforce stability, this initiative strengthens our ability to recruit and retain the talented professionals our community relies on, ensuring we can continue to provide high-quality care for years to come.

Thank you for your continued trust and partnership. It is an honor to serve this community.

Warm regards,

Richard Becker, M.D.
