Aspen Valley Health (AVH) today announced the promotion of Michelle Gelroth to Chief Transformation Officer. In this newly established executive role, Gelroth will lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives designed to strengthen clinical quality, enhance patient experience, improve operational efficiency, ensure financial sustainability and support workforce engagement.

Reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer Dr. Richard Becker, Ms. Gelroth will serve as a strategic partner to the Executive Team, aligning clinical, operational, financial, digital and cultural priorities with Aspen Valley Health’s mission and long-term vision to support the community’s health. As CTO, she will act as an enterprise integrator, bringing together people, processes and technology to drive meaningful, system-wide progress.

“Michelle has already made a profound impact at Aspen Valley Health, and I am thrilled she has accepted this important role,” said Dr. Becker. “Her leadership, vision and unique ability to connect teams and systems position her to drive transformative change across our organization. I am confident she will continue building on her success to advance our mission and better serve our community.”

Ms. Gelroth has been a vital member of Aspen Valley Health since 2014, most recently serving as Chief Information Officer. During her tenure, she led the successful implementation of the Epic electronic health record system—an initiative that enhanced care coordination, safety and patient access across the organization. She also spearheaded the development of Aspen Valley Health’s Epic Connect program, establishing AVH as the only rural Epic Connect hub in the nation and creating a pioneering collaboration model that expands access to advanced digital infrastructure for partner organizations of similar size and scope.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity, proud of what the Aspen Valley Health team has accomplished, and excited to build on that as we move forward,” Gelroth shared. “Transformation is ultimately about people, and I look forward to working together to continuously improve and deliver the best possible care for our patients and community.”
