Helmet Program
Providing access to prevention — building habits to protect the people of our valley.
Building habits to prevent trauma
Aspen Valley Health’s Helmet Program participates in local community events to provide head injury prevention education and free helmets to community members in need. From Bike to Work Day to the National Ski Patrol Safety Month, our team is out in the valley helping riders, skiers, and families stay protected.
Need help fitting a helmet? Fittings are available by appointment. Contact Jill Kennedy, our Trauma Program Director, to learn more about the program or schedule a fitting.
Where you’ll find us

How to fit a helmet
Fitting your helmet is as important as wearing it. Learn how to get the most protection from your helmet by fitting it properly to your or your child’s head.
- 01
Buy It
Choose a helmet certified for your activity — cycling, skiing, or skateboarding — and sized to your head.
- 02
Fit It
Position the helmet level, two finger-widths above the eyebrows, with straps forming a V under each ear.
- 03
Wear It
Wear it every ride, every run. A properly fitted helmet is the single best protection against brain injury.
