Bio
Dr. Ashley Morse is a board-certified emergency medicine physician who began practicing at Aspen Valley Health on a part-time basis in 2024 and transitioned to a full-time role in 2026. Dr. Morse was born at Aspen Valley Health (AVH) and raised in the Aspen area. Throughout childhood she visited the Aspen Valley Health’s Emergency Department with various injuries from outdoor activities and youth sports and was always impressed by the kind staff and compassionate care she received.
She earned her undergraduate degree in neuroscience from Vanderbilt University before returning to Colorado to attend the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine. Dr. Morse completed her residency in emergency medicine at Denver Health, where she was selected to serve as chief resident during her final year.
Dr. Morse has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and is co-editor of the Pocket Emergency Medicine textbook, a widely utilized resource among medical students and emergency medicine residents worldwide. Prior to joining AVH, she spent seven years as an attending physician in the emergency department at Kaiser Permanente St. Joseph Hospital in Denver. During that time, she specialized in medical student and resident education and developed expertise in medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder. Dr. Morse served as Intermountain Health’s Regional Physician Director for the Alternatives to Opioids/MAT Task Force, an initiative supported by the American Medical Association. In 2023, she was recognized as one of Denver’s top emergency medicine physicians by 5280 Magazine.
Dr. Morse is deeply committed to emergency medicine and values the opportunity to care for patients during some of their most vulnerable moments—whether facing sports related injuries, life-threatening conditions or mental health crises. At AVH, she is proud to provide attentive, patient-centered care to the community she has long called home.
