Bio
Dr. Kelly King joined Aspen Valley Health as a hospitalist in 2026. Dr. King is board certified in both internal medicine and as a hospitalist. She has practiced medicine in western Colorado since 1998 and ran a private primary care practice in Grand Junction for more than 22 years. She also has a passion for critical care, hospital care and palliative care and has been working as a hospitalist in Rifle and Glenwood Springs since 2015. Dr. King was the Internal Medical Director and served on the Board of Trustees at Community Hospital in Grand Junction.
She spent much of her early adulthood in the Pacific Northwest, first as an undergraduate studying at Lewis and Clark College in Portland and later as a young doctor practicing on the Oregon Coast. She earned her medical degree at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and completed a residency in internal medicine at George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., finishing her training in 1992. As a medical student, she worked with The Royal Flying Doctors in Australia, providing primary care and emergency medical services in remote and rural regions of the country.
Dr. King has spent her life exploring new ideas and places. Through her travels and life experiences, she learned the importance of listening carefully to her patients and responding with thoughtfulness and an open mind. She works to be the best advocate possible, providing insights and information so that together they can make decisions about the right treatment. She feels fortunate to have lived and raised her daughter in the beauty and freedom of western Colorado.
