Patient Care Unit
Aspen Valley Health’s Patient Care Unit provides inpatient care for all types of medical patients (e.g., cardiac, pulmonary, endocrine, gastrointestinal and pediatric), as well as a number of different types of surgical patients (e.g., orthopedic, gynecologic, general surgery, urologic and plastic surgery).
Aspen Valley Health boasts an all-RN nursing staff that works closely with patients, families and physicians to coordinate care and enhance the healing process.
Intensive Care Unit
The ICU has four beds for seriously ill or injured patients, and all are designated negative pressure rooms. Equipment is state-of-the-art, and all nurses in the department hold advanced certifications in critical care nursing and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS). Nurses are required to obtain ongoing education in the field of critical care.
Enhancing the nursing service provided to ICU patients is the expertise of Aspen Valley Health physicians. The excellent critical care services are provided not only by a team of internists and family practitioners, but also by trauma surgeons, cardiologists, orthopedists and other specialists on the staff. Nuclear medicine, CT and MRI scanning, and ultrasound capabilities enhance the physician’s ability to diagnose and treat seriously ill or injured patients.

Five Stars for Patient Experience
The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) ranked nearly 3,500 hospitals across the country for the quality of patient-reported experience, utilizing a 5-star rating system, and they reported the results on the Hospital Compare website. Aspen Valley Health is very proud to report that we are one of only 266 hospitals in the nation to receive a 5-star rating for patient experience, and we are among only four hospitals in the state to receive this prestigious recognition.
Guardian of Excellence Award Winner
Aspen Valley Health was honored with a Guardian of Excellence award by Press Ganey, recognizing our “phenomenal performance” based on patient-reported experience. The Guardian of Excellence award recognizes hospitals that reach the 95th percentile, or the top 5%, of over 1,000 hospitals in the country for which Press Ganey monitors patient experience.
