Dr. Megan Hiles is an internist who joined the medical staff at Aspen Valley Health in 2025. Dr. Hiles has worked as a primary care physician since 2013, when she completed her residency in Internal Medicine–Primary Care at the University of Colorado. She is a Colorado native who grew up in Parker. Her husband served in the Army, and she practiced and taught medicine in the places he was stationed—including Colorado Springs, Honolulu and Kansas City. Dr. Hiles says the experience of working in various locations has made her a better doctor by exposing her to different styles of practicing medicine and communicating with patients. As a primary care physician, Dr. Hiles likes to focus on preventative medicine and encourages her patients to make lifestyle choices that optimize wellness and longevity. Before joining Aspen Valley Health, she served as director of the Wellness and Prevention Clinics at National Jewish Health in Denver. Dr. Hiles studied biology at Colorado College and then earned her medical degree at Penn State University College of Medicine, graduating in 2010. More recently she completed an MBA at the University of Kansas (KU), where she taught and practiced medicine from 2021 to 2023. Dr. Hiles has also been an educator for most of her career, holding associate professor positions at both KU and the University of Hawaii School of Medicine. She has co-authored two articles published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Hiles is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and was elected Chair of the organization’s Council of Early Career Physicians for 2026-2027. She and her husband made the decision to relocate to Aspen following his retirement from the military. They were drawn to the supportive community and the natural beauty that gives them plenty of opportunities to spend time outdoors. She chose to join Aspen Valley Health in part because of the culture and caliber of people who work here.
